The Defense POW-Missing Personnel Office has produced and published on their web site
several useful reports on men who are missing from the Vietnam War, Korean War, and Cold
War. Most of these reports are in .pdf format requiring Adobe Acrobat Reader to view
them -- Adobe is available free and the DPMO site has a link to download Adobe. Some
of the reports are in HTML or ASCII format.
Vietnam War
For the Vietnam War databases, go to this URL: http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/pmsea/files.htm
Reports include:
- Complete list of all missing, returned, escaped.
- Updated list of missing whose remains have been recovered.
- List of escapees
- List of returnees
- Summary tables (html format)
The DPMO page also has a listing of missing individuals, listed alphabetically.
Click on the letter of the last name for a list of all missing personnel whose last
name begins with that letter -- scroll down the list and click on the name and you will
see the basic data: name, rank at time of loss, loss date and location, hometown,
current status.
Cold War

. This page lists Cold War missing by name and by state. The page also
includes summaries of all 14 incidents in which men are still missing.
Korean War
For the Korean War database, visit this URL: http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/pmkor/index.htm
. This database -- in .pdf format -- lists men still missing after all repatriation
operations. Lists are sorted by name and by state.
